Personal Information We Collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we also collect information about the individual pages you view, what websites or search terms referred you to us, and how you interact with the Site. We call this data “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring and exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
When you contact us through the Site — by submitting our contact or margin-diagnostic form, booking a diagnostic call, or emailing us directly — we collect the details you provide, which typically include your name, email address, phone number, business or restaurant name, and any information about your operation that you choose to share. We refer to this as “Contact Information.”
When we use the term “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to both Device Information and Contact Information.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the Contact Information that we collect to respond to your inquiries, schedule and prepare for consultations, provide proposals and engagement materials, send invoices where applicable, and communicate with you about our services. When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, we may also use this information to provide you with information relating to our services.
We use the Device Information to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site — for example, by generating analytics about how visitors browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the effectiveness of our outreach.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with third parties who help us operate the Site and our business, as described above — for example our website host (Webflow) and the scheduling and email tools we use to communicate with you — and only to the extent needed to perform those services.
We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use the Site. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Your Rights (California Residents)
If you are a resident of California, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, and to ask how it is collected, used, and shared. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request that we do not sell it — which we do not do. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, please contact us by email at thomas@terroirandtactics.com, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Do Not Track
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
Data Retention
When you contact us or engage our services through the Site, we will maintain your Contact Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete it.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we update our policies, we will also update this page and the date at the top of this page. We will not contact you to let you know.
